It is with great pleasure that I share some news with you. Starting on January 1st, Benson SEO will be my full-time passion obsession career! Over the past year or two I’ve been moonlighting as a search marketing consultants to businesses of all sizes while working full-time with a software company. The experience has been rewarding as well as challenging giving new meaning to work-life balance. Through the client relationships I’ve been fortunate to cultivate in my consulting I’ve always had one regret: time. I – and Benson SEO as a result – have not had the time to dedicate to the needs of my clients as completely as I would have liked. Now that’s not to say that I haven’t put in the effort or level of detail they deserved, it’s simply to address the issue of time management and resource allocation. The clients of Benson SEO have been more than understanding of my requests for calls at odd hours or the occasional 3am email.
All that is going to change in a few short days. I’d like to thank all my clients for their patience, understanding and willingness to work with me given the time constraints we’re all facing. I believe the past two years have given me a focused understanding of the time resource challenges facing many businesses and I’m sure this will only increase as I run my own business.
The email below was sent to a few friends and family to thank them for their contributions and support of my goals. Thanks again to everyone involved! Looking forward to a great 2014!
Hello Family and Friends,
As some of you are aware I’ve been working on the side as a freelance SEO and marketing consultant. For the past year or so I’ve been juggling full-time work with Vocus, Inc. and my consulting side business. Yesterday the 11th I gave my notice with Vocus. On January 1st I’ll officially be a full-time SEO and marketing consultant running my business under the name Benson SEO, LLC.
I’m writing to you all because you’ve all contributed in some way to my venture. Some of you have provided advice, referrals, legal advice, the occasional warning and even some of you have been clients. I truly appreciate the help and support, thank you!
Of course, if you know anyone who needs more traffic to their website, send them my way!
I’d especially like to thank Val for her support. She has never uttered a word of doubt or concern, but has encouraged me throughout this experience. Thank you so much, I love you! Also, because of your support if we go broke you’re just as culpable as I am :).
Here’s to an exciting and terrifying 2014! Cheers!
Thank you!
Scott
P.S.
SEO is just a fancy way of saying I help businesses get more people to see their website by getting it to show up in Google. I help them analyze their data so they can see what’s working (and what’s not) on their website so they can generate more online sales.
